Joel E. Solomon

Managing Director

Joel is an Executive Vice President and a member of Rothschild’s Executive Committee, which handles all aspects of the firm’s strategic direction at Rothschild.

Joel’s duties involve managing retirement benefit plans, managed investment accounts, and general brokerage.

Before joining Rothschild in 1991, Joel obtained 15 years of experience working in investment and merchant banking, private company ownership financing, and corporate finance. He spent eight years with Bankers Trust Company and six years with A.G. Becker Warburg Paribas.

Joel served as a trustee for the Village of Glencoe and formerly served on the Glencoe Police Pension Board, as well as various not-for-profit boards. He is also a member of the Illinois Bar. He currently serves as Chairman of The Cradle Foundation Board, a 501(c)3 supporting The Cradle Society, an Illinois not-for-profit adoption and child welfare agency.

Joel received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colorado College, an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, and a Juris Doctor from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law.
